Apollo has experienced an increase in patients returning from overseas with considerable numbers of investigations and medical documents to be considered by the General Practitioners for ongoing medical management.
If you, or any of your family members, have had medical investigations and/ or medical consultations overseas and have documentation related to these please be aware that we are unable to offer a professional translation service.
You will need to arrange translation into English for your clinicians to be able to read the reports prior to coming to see your GP.
The New Zealand Health System will usually require repeat investigations performed in our health system to be completed before it can accept any referrals – whether this is in the publicly funded health system or the private (patient funded) health system.
If you have a number of investigations and reports for your GP to consider you are advised to book a double appointment to discuss these. In addition, the GP may require additional time to consider the best medical management of these reports – so you may also require a follow up consultation.
Please be aware that access to further investigation is prioritised to those who meet agreed clinical criteria for further treatment and targeted to those most In need.
